Technical Writer (Sofia, Bulgaria)

Product Guidance is the department responsible for creating materials that Infragistics’ customers use to learn our products and explore how our controls interact in the real world.

The Technical Writer is a leadership role that directs Product Guidance writing staff to produce clear, effective and professional product documentation for Infragistics. This position reports to the Senior Technical Writer and has influence to direct the craft of writing throughout the PG teams the Editor works with.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning the documentation structure and help topics on various Infragistics products
• Oversee API documentation and interaction with the Engineering department
• Help develop and maintain an easy-to-use writing and style guide
• Ensure writing styles and proper formatting are upheld
• Mentor a largely ESL writing staff on writing and establish best practices
• Copyedit and ensure quality of written documents
• Help craft and institute documentation creation and review process
• Participate in development of the company’s documentation templates

Qualifications

• Excellent written English
• At least 3 years of experience in a Technical Writer role
• Knowledge of the general principles of technical writing and documentation quality and usability
• Familiarity with the concepts of style guides and documentation templates and their role for the organization
• Analytical capability to evaluate information and data in order to determine problem areas and assist and guide the PG staff in correcting deficiencies
• Precision and an eye for the detail
• Ability to manage a wide variety of projects concurrently with minimal supervision
• Be comfortable writing for professional audiences and documenting APIs

The following qualifications and abilities are considered a plus:

• Certification in Technical Writing
• University degree with a major in English Language
• Teaching qualification in ESL
• Experience editing for digital publication
• Any level of programming experience
• Familiarity with Microsoft® Visual Studio® and Microsoft SharePoint®
• Proficiency in any Infragistics products
