Developer Support Engineer (Cranbury, NJ)

Description

Learn our presentation-layer components inside and out - through source code and within applications, from planning/beta to release and beyond. Create sample apps, troubleshoot customer questions (via phone, live chat, and email), edit/write knowledge base articles, and use the latest languages/programming environments. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct programming support to professional developers using our products, via phone, live chat, web forms, forums, and email.
  • Analyze, reproduce, and troubleshoot technical problems using Infragistics products as reported by customers.
  • Work with Engineering to find solutions for our customers.
  • Support other DSEs in their daily troubleshooting and case completion.
  • Keep updated and ahead of learning Infragistics products and related technologies.
  • Actively post to forums.
  • Advocate for our customers by responding both efficiently and professionally.
  • Reproduce bugs reported by a customer in a coded sample project.
  • Take small programming projects as assigned by manager or other departments.
  • Provide coded product functionality samples for the Knowledge Base and customers directly.
  • Test/verify bugs submitted on behalf of customers.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions/input on product, process, and service improvements, and submit ideas for new products.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Excellent spoken and written communication in English is imperative.
  • Superior Customer Service Skills.
  • Management, Team Lead, or other leadership role experience.
  • The following (listed in order of importance): C#, VB.NET, .NET web development (ASP.NET, JavaScript, XML, AJAX, HTML/DHTML), Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), and Silverlight.
  • Knowledge in: Telerik, Infragistics, Devexpress a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with product life-cycle/development. Enthusiasm/familiarity for component architecture and methodology a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Visual Studio 2003, Visual Studio 2005, and/or 2010.
  • Familiarity and/or experience with databases, database management systems, and data structures.
  • Ability to comprehend and retain Infragistics product knowledge.
  • BS required or demonstrated equivalent skills, and/or preferred minimum 4-6 years of true professional experience.
  • No relocation allowances.
This is not an application programmer position; however it requires a similar skill set. You must pass a written and oral technical exam in programming languages including a timed, demonstrated ability to write a .NET application on-site as per our specifications.
