Purpose
This position is a challenging combination of coding, documentation and problem-solving. The successful candidate must possess good Java and J2EE coding skills, along with excellent verbal and written abilities. During any given day you will work with developers, internal marketing and customers to help with a wide variety of problems.
Essential Duties
- Create example applications which demonstrate product usage
- Contribute to development and maintenance of public web site
- Provide coded product functionality samples for knowledge base and customers directly
- Test/verify bugs submitted on behalf of customers
- Provide feedback and suggestions / input on product, process and service improvements, and submit ideas for new products
- Write / update help topics (e.g., How-To's, Quick Starts, Tutorials) for Infragistics' UI controls
- Write code snippets in various programming languages
- Work with RAD, NetBeans and Eclipse
- Work with Tomcat, WAS, WPS, and other application and portal servers
- Research design docs and interview relevant subject-matter experts (e.g., Developers, Product Managers, Q/A testers, Evangelists, Support)
- Provide direct programming support to professional developers using Infragistics products, via phone and e-mail
- Reproduce bugs reported by customers in coded sample projects
Minimum Requirements and Skills
- J2EE programming experience with servlets, JSP and JSP-EL.
- Competency with HTML 4, CSS 2 and Javascript
- Ability to install and configure commercially-used servlet containers such as Tomcat and WAS
- Proven technical writing ability
- Excellent verbal skills
- Ability to help customers in a friendly, professional manner
Desired Additional Skills
- Experience with JSTL and custom tags
- Familiarity with Struts and Java Server Faces
- Familiarity with JSF component libraries such as IceFaces and RichFaces
- Knowledge of AJAX and AJAX tools such as Dojo
