Leveraging Windows Azure Data with SharePoint Business Connectivity Services

Tomorrow May 31 from 19:00 (GMT +2:00) we will be holding a presentation about consuming Windows Azure Data inside SharePoint via Business Connectivity Services (BCS for short).

To tease you more about it, I am giving some info snippets and screenshots of what you could expect. We will talk about general usage of BCS and extracting content from back-end  (external) systems. General requirements for getting data from Windows Azure.

We will show a hands on demo, developing a .NET Assembly Connector for retrieving data from Windows Azure Data set and present it in SharePoint as External List. We will give answer to the questions why we are using .NET Assembly Connector, why don't we just use a WCF service and connect via SharePoint Designer.

Also, you could expect a few tricks - what issues you might encounter developing for SharePoint Foundation or for public facing SharePoint portals.

The presentation will be broadcasted in a live meeting. For now, it will be held in Bulgarian, but should there be enough interest, we will schedule another webinar in English. You can register for the event at: https://www149.livemeeting.com/lrs/8002574606/Registration.aspx?pageName=gjt64mwjvcd3fvm8

In the end, we have arranged some SharePoint awards. Oh, yes, I almost forgot - here are a few screenshots:

We have prepared a SharePoint web application where we will demonstrate the hands on demo
