Hi,
we are using igneti 2012.2, and we want to update our infragistics version to latest.
I downloaded latest Ignite UI trial version and tested it, but i have a few issues with new version (2016.1). My first problem is about the igGrid.
igGrid("activeCell") method not working as we expected. When i click the cell, activeCell is working. But when i click the a button, activeCell method returns null.
i created a small test page, you can download it from here;

Hello Burak,
Thank you for contacting Infragistics!
I have done some looking into this matter and this is the expected behavior. The reason for this is when click the button the cell is no longer active. The same happens if you were to click anywhere outside the grid or on a part of the grid that is not a cell, as the cell no longer has foucs/is active.
Instead you will want to use the ‘selectedCell’, ‘selectedCells’, ‘selectedRow’, or ‘selectedRows’ method depending on if you have row selection/cell selection and/or multiple selection enabled.

thanks for reply.
but it is not same with 2012.2 version. and i guess it is not same with 2014 versions (we tried it before and not detected this issue)..
we coded our apps with activeCell method and working well with 2012.2 version. if there is no other solution about that, we can't use new version. we want to use new version without changing our codes. do you have any suggestion about that ?
The behavior you are seeing in v12.2 was a bug that has since been fixed as it was interfering with ARIA support. As a result the best options are to either change to the ‘selectedCell’ method as previous suggested or you can handle the activeCellChanged event and manually store the active cell so that you can use it later when you click on a different element than a grid cell:

Please let me know if you have any further questions concerning this matter.
it seems, we can't use new version without changing our codes.
thanks.
