Hi,
I am using the WebDataGrid with all the Virtual Scrolling & Paging enabled but I cannot see way to tell the control how many data records (IList) that I have in my data source (could be up to 10,000) without initially reading all the data from my data source but that is too slow.
Other grids I have used in the past allowed me to read 10 records at a time but also allowed me to tell the grid control the total records there are so it can calculate the paging next/prev etc.. but I cannot see an equivalent in your web grid ?.
Regards.
Hello Steve Davis,
Thank you for contacting Infragistics!
I would like to confirm if I understood your request correctly. You would like to get the total record count of the grid's datasource for paging purposes.
If you have any questions, please let us know as well.
I have a data source that I get from a slowish remote source but I noticed that the grid always calls my method that gets the data every time I click on a page number on the bottom of the grid, so my question is how can this be efficient if it tries to read all the data ? is it it not possible for the grid to read 1 page (say 10 records) at a time but still display the page numbers at the bottom ?
Regards
Thank you for the additional information.
I may need more information from you. Please let me know more of the method and how the grid is bound together with your reply. If you have any questions, please let me know as well.
Hello Steve,
I am just following up and see if you need further assistance.
