I have been using the coded ui support provided in 12.2. I was unable to use any of my coded ui tests however when we upgraded to visual studio 2013. We therefore, kept support for visual studio 2012 so that we could continue using our coded ui support. I heard that in the new 14.2 vs2013 would now be supported. Instead I openned up our existing coded ui switched all the app and coded ui dlls to 2014 and now not only don't they work in 2013 they don't work in 2012. I even tried making a smaller scale app but that doesn't work either. Am I doing something wrong?

VS 2013 Coded UI support was added in Infragistics version 14.1 service release #: 2059, as mentioned here: http://www.infragistics.com/community/forums/t/91870.aspx
It provided a new DLL to the Coded UI test folder for VS 2013: C:\Program Files (x86)\Infragistics\Infragistics 2014.2\Windows Forms\Coded UI Test Infragistics4.Win.CodedUITest.UIA.VS12.v14.2.dll
With the new DLL the test should be comptabile. It's possible that you might run into issues if you upgraded your application, then uninstalled the previous version. Please let me know what exact steps you took thus far.
Also, please clarify the steps you used to create and test your sample application?
If you are having issues with a new sample using 14.2, then you want to make sure the correct assembly is being used for the version of Visual Studio you are testing in. Was your sample test in a working version, then upgraded to 14.2? Or have you created a fresh test in 14.2 and having issues?
VS 2013: Infragistics4.Win.CodedUITest.UIA.VS12.v14.2.dll
VS 2012: Infragistics4.Win.CodedUITest.UIA.VS11.v14.2.dll
To troubleshoot this issue further, proceed by verifying that your test's UIMap includes the correct Infragistics type in the proper namespace. Additionally, make sure the search properties/query ids that look to match the TechnologyName are updated to match the current version.

I did not uninstall 12.2 infragistics. i would send you my sample app but I don't seem to be able to attach a file. All I did was create an app with some infragistics 14.2 controls but when I went to record the controls showed up as winforms controls not infragistics controls.

This behavior has been addressed in service release versions WinForms_14.2.20142.2092, WinForms_14.1.20141.2165. To download the service release, please visit My Keys & Downloads select the 'Dev Tools' tab and then select the volume you are using. Finally, select the 'Service Releases' tab and the available service releases will be listed below.
