Hi,
I have a datagrid with a data relation that represents a hierarchical table. I am trying to view the summary rows for each of the child sets of data. However, when expanding a particular node, column values and nodes below the summary row gets blanked out. If I scroll up and down I can see some text render but it looks very buggy. I am using the ultragrid wizard to set up the summary rows.
I am using Infragistics 10.1.

I followed the steps you suggested and was unable to reproduce the behavior you're describing. I have created a project with hierarchical data set of two tables with one to many relation. I have set this data set as UltraGrid data source in the project. I have set a summary column for all child tables in the grid. I have tested this project and did not find any fields to get blank during expanding of child tables.
I have attached the sample project I used to test this. Please test this project on your PC; whether or not it works correctly may help indicate the nature of this issue.
If the project does not work correctly, this indicates either an issue possibly specific to your environment, or a difference in the DLL versions we are using. My test was performed using version 10.1.20101.1007 in Infragistics Windows Forms 10 Volume 1. So could you please let me know the exact version of Infragistics components which you are using?
If the project does show the product feature working correctly, this indicates a possible issue in the code of your application. It will help if you can provide a small, isolated sample application that demonstrates the behavior you are seeing, or, if this sample project is not an accurate demonstration of what you're trying to do, please feel free to modify it and send it back.

After trying out your project sample I have determined that the source of the problem is that, I have been using an inherited UltraWinGrid object with added functionality. There seems to be a conflict with how the summaries are displayed.

So right now I have been trying to sift through the additional code, but I am lacking in direction in where I should be looking.
I believe there is a bug causing a rendering issue within the datagrid.
I will try to explain:
When I expand parent 1, I can see the parent 1 row and the child rows of parent 1. However, below the summary, the rows do not render and the expansion buttons do not render. I am only able to see the column headers. However, if I scroll down enough to align the column header to the top of the grid window, everything renders again, but this will obviously hide what was shown in the expanded parent 1.
Do you have any idea what could be causing this? Have there been similar rendering problems in the past? What were their general causes?
I’ve looked into the logged development issues for a similar issue and I was not able to find any similar matter. However in order to narrow the possibility this to be in issue in Infragistics code I suggest you to test this with the latest Infragistics version (currently 14.2 ) or at least with the latest service release of 10.1:

Without sample which I could investigate on my side I only could make a wide gasses about the reason of this issue. Based on the description of this it seems to me that you are using IUIElementCreationFilter or IUIElementDrawFilter for some custom extension of the UI of the grid, which cause this issue. So my suggestion would be to look in your code for implementation of any of the mentioned interfaces.
