While evaluating SharePlus with our Sharepoint 2010 setup, and mostly very much liking what I have seen, I have noticed SharePlus will consistently hang on Sharepoint folders containing photos – they simply never load. Even a number as small as 6 photos is enough to make the load spinner block the whole app (not cancel able by tapping it, either). Note I also have evaluated a w competing products, which all have their share of bugs and warts, but do display the folder contents without complaining.
Hello Martin,
Thank you for contacting Infragistics!
In order to have context information on the issue we would like to know the following:
What version of SharePlus are you using?
Which iOS are you running it on?
Do you have more than one test device? If so, is it happening in all of them?
We also want to have a look at the app's logs.
Please click here and follow the steps in that forum post in order to enable and send us SharePlus' technical logs after reproducing the issue a couple of times.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Gonzalo T Technical Support Engineer I Enterprise Mobility Infragistics, Inc.
Hi Gonzalo,
running SharePlus 4.1.2027 (evaluation version, no subscription) and iOS 8.2 (12D508), German locale, on an iPad Air 2 128G. Issue persists whatever network stack I use (why is that a user facing option anyway … NVM, OT). I followed the instructions, but I can’t send you logs as I have to switch away from SharePlus once it blocks, and it then either restarts on next activation, forgetting its logs, or has to be force-quit to be usable, with the same result. I could record a video, but all you would see is the loading spinner once I tap a picture folder – nothing else ever happens :(.
Can you try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it?
The preview version will allow you to see up to 10 items per list/library, you should be able to see the pictures in the folder.
Please try a full reinstall, I will also recommend you to try downloading the app to iTunes and installing it to your device from iTunes itself since OTA installations maybe interrupted by network, traffic and size restrictions.
Please let me know if you keep having issues.
As it turned out, this bug is specific to running SharePlus in evaluation mode – the problem goes away with a subscription active. If I had to guess, I would say the 10 items limit somehow throws the app into an endless loop when trying to list picture folders, but that is conjecture.
I appreciate your feedback.
I'll pass this information to our developers since the preview version should display the first 10 items in the library.
Do you need further help from us?
Hello Gonzalo,
thanks for the offer of further support, but you can close this ticket – I’ll open a new one should I run into any other issues :).
Thank you for the help!
I'm closing this support case.
