Hello Support Staff!
Here I am again, with a problem I face with the WebDataTree. As you can see in my sample project, I am expanding all levels with all childs when the user clicks on a root item. This is what I want to achieve and it works fine :) The problem is, the third level items are somewhat disabled and the user cannot check them. I don't know why this happens and I tried everything.
In my sample project:
Try to expand GROUP 1.
As you can see, GROUP 1.1, GROUP 1.2 and GROUP 1.3 are expanding fine with their children.
However, the children from each group are not checkable. And checking GROUP 1.1 does not auto-check his children, although AutoChecking is enabled. And checking the children also doesnt work.
Why is this happening? Am I doing something wrong?
I am using v11.1.20111.1006 and VS 2012.
Thank U :)
Hello George,
Thank you for using our forum.
It seems you are using a version of the controls considered deprecated. What is more the Developer Support for NetAdvantage for 11.1 was available until May 2014, Service Release support for that product version and the retired classic toolset has expired - development issues are no longer being fixed for that version. Similarly support is no longer being added for newer platforms.
I suggest you to upgrade your project to one of the new versions of the control if possible. It is possible that the issues you are facing are fixed in the newer version of the controls.

Thank you for your answer.
Yes we migrated from 11.1 to 14.2 and everything is fine now :)
WebDataTree works like a charm.
I have investigated the case for you and I have modified the sample you sent me. I would like to let you know that the issue with the checking of the nodes can be fixed by taking the text content of the node.
node._element.textContent.startsWith('G')
In the sample you can find a workaround for the issue with the expand and the collapse of the last child node. In order to find out why this behavior appears we will further investigate the issue and I will update you regarding our findings.
Please take a look at the sample and let me know how my suggestions work for you.

Hello Marina.
node._element.textContent.startsWith('G') will not work, since the nodes will not start with "G". It's only a sample project, and in a real world scenario the nodes will start with anything.
However, I found a workaround by filling adding Attributes to the nodes in server side. This works okay and are accessible in every level.
Thank you for your support.
Just want to note that the only problem that remains is the epxanding/collapsing of nodes of 3rd level +
It just doesn't seem to work.
I hope you will have a solution for this.
Sincerely,
George K.
I have modified the sample, could you test it and see whether the issue occurs on your side.
Yes thank you Marina, it works like a charm now :)
