When you cancel the rowdeleting event (return false), the event is fired twice in IE. This is not the case in Chrome and Firefox.

It looks like this issue is again reproducible in Ignite UI 15.2.
I logged an internal issue with Development ID 166592.
I also created a case on your behalf with number CAS-169624-J0T8X0 , so that you can be notified when there is a resolution for the issue.
