Hi!
We've been using 2006.3 since the dawn of time. The registry key has always worked but not now. Is there any reason to why it would fail now all of a sudden?
Hello,
With the old installers there was often a problem where a bad key would get cached and wouldn't be cleared until the machine the installer is run on is rebooted. If you reboot the machine and run the installer again, does the issue persist?
Please also note that if you are copying and pasting the key from a rich text editor like MS Word or Outlook that there may be formatting characters included that cause the key to be invalid. If you are copying and pasting the key into the installer it is best to copy from a plain text editor such as Notepad.
Let me know if you have any questions with this matter.
Thanks for the response. I've rebooted several times and I copy from notepad.
Strange thing is that when I run the installer again and choose the CD-key option to upgrade from a trial version I get no visible errors. But when I try to compile or open a form with an infragistic control on I get a message that says "trial period has ended" or something along those lines.
If you are running the installer on Windows Vista or newer, make sure you are running as Administrator. It is also possible that disabling UAC may help:

If you are running as administrator or have followed the steps in the article and are still having issues, please provide a log file:

Well, I wasn't running the installer as admin. Thanks for the help!
