Can anyone tell me how do I hide particular cells, that is I would like to hide the cells when I know in which row and which column it will appear
To hide webdatagrid.row[1].column[2] in client side.

About your question, you can hide entire column, although you cannot hide only one cell of the WebDataGrid. If you want to hide it client side, my suggestion is to have a look at the following online sample below:

If you want to hide is server side, you will need to handle RowInitialized event an in there to access the column and apply it CSS class which will hide the column, code snippet:

That worked in Firefox to hide null columns however in IE and Chrome I get the following error
Unable to set value of the property 'display': object is null or undefined
