I am working with a very old version of Test Advantage (4.3), and need to frequently re-install my test bed. I have managed to setup a silent install for my QTP, but would like to also do a silent install of TestAdvantage. I have tried
msiexec /i "\\2013tfs9\fileshare\Tools\Infragistics\4.3\TestAdvantage43.msi" /qb ALLUSERS=1 PIDKEY=[my license key]
Everything looks like it installs, but I get an error in QTP ("Invalid License information") when I try to access an Infargistics control
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks
Bayla
Hi Bayla,
Please check to see if the Infragistics.License assembly is in your GAC (C:\Windows\assembly) and let me know if the assembly is there.
Hi Mike,
Yes, Infragistics.license is in the GAC
We took a look in the source for TestAvantage 4.3, and found that the error "Invalid License Information" maps to an invalid product key. I have opened a private case where you can send us your key so I can validate it. The case number is CAS-159650-X2G4C6 and you will be able to see it on the My Support Activity page on the main website.
Please send your license information through the case.
I am posting here to summarize the solution that we found, so that other developers may benefit.
We determined that the 4.3 installer used the _INSTALL_SERIALNUM_ property for the key. As this property was not exposed by the MSI, a third party program was needed to modify it so that the key was built-in.
We recommended a program called Orca, and you were able to use this program to solve the issue.
