Hi I am using ultragrid for my application but I am not able to perform multi select in the grid. I have set the selectrowtype property to Extended but it is not working.
Is there any other possibility that multi select will work properly?

In order to select more than one row, you have to hold down the Ctrl or Shift key - just like in Windows Explorer. If you are doing that and it's still not working, then there must be some other factor at work.
If you are setting SelectTypeRow, then perhaps the property is being reset or changed after you set it. Are you loading a layout into the grid which might be blowing away the property setting?
Are you setting the property on the DisplayLayout.Override or on the band.Override? If you set it on both, then the band will take precedence over the DisplayLayout.
I tried to set it in both Band and Display layout,but yet it is not working. When I did debug in InitialLayout the property is shown as extended but yet it is not working.
In which event it would be better to set the SelectRowType property so that it would not take overriden by anything?
InitializeLayout is typically a good place to set properties like this one. It's impossible for me to say whether you are changing the property setting in some other event, of course. But you could test it by placing a button on the form and in the button click, check the property setting at run-time to make sure it's set to what you think it is.
If it's still not working, can you post a small sample project here? If I can duplicate the behavior, I'm sure I could tell you why it's not working.
Hi thank you for your response, I did check the property in the mouse click event ,it is being set properly to "extended" . actually we are updating the styles of the older form. in older form this property is working fine .But in our new form where we are using the same grid with different style ,this functionality is not working.
If the property setting is applied correctly and it's still not working, then there might be some code in one of the grid's events that is interfering.
It's also possible that you have set MaxSelectedRows to 1, but that seems unlikely.
I can't think of any other properties of the grid that would prevent selection from working. can you post a small sample project?
I'm just following up on this. Do you still need assistance with this? Are you able to reproduce the problem in a small sample project?
