ASP.NET AJAX Slider Control

WebSlider™ is a lightweight and easy-to-use ASP.NET AJAX slider (or track bar) control that enables Web developers to add yet another familiar UX pattern into their applications. The sliding track metaphor is easily understood by users whether they are novices or old pro's, and it is ideal for a number of value editing situations where data needs to be confined to a range. With the ability to show two handles, the WebSlider even allows users to specify range minimum and maximum values on their own such as for setting an arbitrary price range for a search.

Key Features at a Glance

Several key features make the WebSlider a powerful choice, particularly for numeric data entry:

  • Intuitive, Ideal for Range Values - Users entering values into an editable numeric field may have no idea what the limits of their data entry are leading to frustration when they enter a value outside the legal range; but WebSlider makes it instantly clear to users what the range of values are.
  • Segmented Values - Exercise maximum control over the precision and increment of values your end users can select through property settings, such as enforcing price increments of $1,000 at a time or showing tickmarks only every $10,000.
  • Multiple Handles - Not only can users slide a handle to a single value, but you can display two handles which enables users to enter two values specifying a range.
  • Many Popular Styles Included - Our visual designers have crafted plenty of contemporary style sets, including those that emulate the popular look and feel of the Office® 2007 track bar.
  • ASP.NET AJAX - Founded on the Microsoft® ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions 1.0 and the new ASP.NET 3.5 platform, our ASP.NET AJAX controls like the slider enable teams to capitalize on native AJAX capabilities and script the control on the client-side.
  • Supports ASP.NET Dynamic Data - Supports ASP.NET Dynamic Data practices such as the annotated markup of range limits using attribute metadata.
