Windows Forms Controls New Features – 2011 Volume 1

As the marketplace moves to XAML technologies, Infragistics remains committed to enhancing and extending the capabilities of Windows Forms UIs.

Our new, NetAdvantage® for Windows Forms 2011 Volume 1 version demonstrates our continued support for Microsoft Office® 2010. You will find the following in this new release: a Microsoft Word Library with an object model for creating new Word documents and the ability to export them as WordML (.docx file format); a WinGridWordWriter™ for enabling you to export the WinGrid™ to a Microsoft Word document; a WinFormattedTextWordWriter™ that takes the content of the WinFormattedTextEditor™ and exports it as a Word document by simply writing only a single line of code; ribbon end user customizations that let your application's end users customize tabs, groups and items; and an Infragistics Theme style library to give you a complete visual makeover for your applications. It also includes appealing visual indicators, and a compelling "look and feel" for your controls and components, e.g., hover, default, disabled & selected states.

Microsoft Word Library - NEW!

Create and work with Microsoft Word® document files. Now you can focus on the features you really need for your application's document layout. Our object model allows you to abstract away low-level document format details, making it easier for you to program against the object model. Our library offers you the ability to write out styled text, hyperlinks, images, tables, shapes and much more. In addition, we provide you with document-specific features that allow you to specify the page size, margins, page breaks, and set header/footer information. Just like our Infragistics.Excel compiled assembly, you can easily integrate this Word library into your Windows Forms applications.

Windows Forms Word Export

Word Writers - NEW!

Our Word Writer components increase collaboration by letting your users share documents that can be generated from WinGrid data or the WinFormattedTextEditor in widely supported WordML (.docx file format). It takes only a single line of code to produce professional-quality Microsoft Word documents.

WinGridWordWriter

This new component increases collaboration by letting your users share documents. By letting you stream the WinGrid's data into a Microsoft Word document, it delivers these documents with optimal performance and minimal overhead. Its implementation makes creating a Word document as simple and as fast as only writing one line of code.

WinFormattedTextWordWriter

Instantly export the contents from within the WinFormattedTextEditor while retaining all of its formatting in the resulting Microsoft Word document with as little as one line of code.

Infragistics Theme - NEW!

This Infragistics Style Library (.isl) dovetails into our Application Styling Framework™ for the creation of modern looking application user interfaces (UIs). It offers you a complete visual theme with "right out of the box" control styles and styles for individual elements. It removes the headache of having to make all of those time-consuming style settings across all of our controls yourself. You can even deploy your applications and use them within your production environment using the Infragistics theme.

WinRibbon™ - Enhanced!

With our new ribbon end user customization support, you can enable application users to customize their work experience so that they can be more productive. Adding the ability to customize the ribbon on your own can be challenging, due to all of the conflicting requirements your application can have, but we simplify this for you when you are using our Windows Forms ribbon. Adding our new Ribbon Customization Provider to your form and hooking it up to your ribbon is all you need to enable end user customization support out-of-the-box. You can let your application's end users customize tabs, groups and items to give them complete control over the application's user experience in little to no time at all.
