Arrange Controls at Design-Time with GridBag ConstraintsView Full Screenshot

Designed to meet versatile layout demands, the WinGridBagLayoutPanel™ container control enhances any controls you place inside of it with their own grid bag layout constraints. We have leveraged the features and behaviors of our WinGridBagLayoutManager™ engine inside of a panel, that makes it easy-to-use from within the design time environment.

Visually arrange your controls according to the panel's rectangular grid of virtual rows and columns, delineated by dashed guidelines in the designer (these lines are not visible at run time). Drag-and-drop each control you wish to layout into the open spaces on the panel. Controls may span rows and columns, by dragging a span resizing glyph in the direction you would like the control to stretch. If your needs change, you can always intuitively drag the guidelines to resize each region until you have the layout you want. The constraints intelligently adapt to your design time directions.

Features at a Glance

  • Visual Designer Layout Experience - Arrange controls inside a familiar rectangular grid while you receive instantaneous visual feedback.
  • WinGridBagLayoutManager Foundation - Everything you already know about GridBagConstraint objects from the WinGridBagLayoutManager apply equally well to the WinGridBagLayoutPanel.
  • Adaptive Flexibility - Constraint settings such as the MinimumSize, PreferredSize, Inset, and independent weightings in the X- or Y- dimensions give you several degrees of freedom when it comes to your control size and position.
