Microsoft ASP.NET 3.5 Framework supported by NetAdvantage for ASP.NET 2008 Vol. 1 and later

Everyone has heard of AJAX by now, and nearly everyone has heard of the integration of Microsoft's AJAX stack as part-and-parcel of the new ASP.NET 3.5 Framework so that you no longer need to deploy or configure Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions separately to experience all of that AJAX goodness.  NetAdvantage for ASP.NET 2008 Volume 1 and later releases include the the Aikido™ Framework which takes innate advantage of the AJAX capabilities of the platform to provide your users with a greater experience.

NetAdvantage for ASP.NET 2008 Vol. 1 (or later) for CLR 3.5

You can download builds of NetAdvantage for ASP.NET 2008 Vol. 1 (or later) for CLR 3.5 which means the control assemblies have been built against the AJAX-related classes built into the ASP.NET 3.5 Framework, providing you with a much simplified deployment.

You can also download NetAdvantage for ASP.NET 2008 Vol. 1 (or later) builds that contain the Aikido Framework and work using Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions and the ASP.NET 2.0 platform.  It's important to note that the AJAX support you get from the Aikido Framework with either build is the same, however we think many developers and administrators will likely prefer the ASP.NET 3.5 Framework now that it includes AJAX support built-in.

Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions supported by NetAdvantage for ASP.NET 2006 Vol. 2 and later

Back in 2006, Microsoft refactored and enhanced their AJAX offerings by officially dubbing them Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX.  As soon as they had released their Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions, Infragistics announced its immediate support for it (just as we did for each prerelease) with our NetAdvantage for ASP.NET 2006 Volume 2 release. The following details explain what developers can expect from this AJAX support.

Support Details

  • Our ASP.NET controls register themselves with the UpdatePanel to ensure proper interoperation within it.
  • Our Javascript Client-Side Object Model (CSOM) works alongside the Microsoft AJAX Library.
  • Our ASP.NET controls do not interfere with the Microsoft AJAX Library.

Integrated support with NetAdvantage for ASP.NET 2007 Volume 1 and later

Beginning with NetAdvantage for ASP.NET 2007 Volume 1 for CLR 2.0, this support for Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions became built into the product, meaning you no longer needed to apply any extra hotfix or patch.

Licensed Customers using NetAdvantage for ASP.NET 2006 Volume 2 or 3

You need to have already downloaded and installed NetAdvantage for ASP.NET 2006 Volume 2 or 3 for CLR 2.0 prior to installing the hotfix.  The hotfix is not available for CLR 1.x versions of our products because Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions only run on ASP.NET 2.0.  Subscribers to 2006 Volume 2 and 3 can download this hotfix from My Downloads and Keys.
