Infragistics User Experience Case Studies
9/11 Memorial Guide (September 2011)
This case study provides an inside look at Infragistics' 9/11 Memorial Guide.
This app provides an intuitive look at the 9/11 Memorial including finding names inscribed on the bronze walls of the Memorial, etc.
British Telecom (January 2011)

This case study provides an inside look as to how the Infragistics Services team helped British Telecom focus on improving their call center operation.
This project will produce a cutting-edge call center application to significantly reduce call handling time and help customers enjoy British Telecom products faster.
MS LightSwitch Shell (August 2010)

This case study shows the making of a shell (interaction and graphic design template) that is shipped with LightSwitch, a new version of Visual Studio. LightSwitch allows also non-professional programmers to quickly create line of business applications.
In this video, the different roles on this project provide insight into their work. It shows how everyone contributed to come up with a touch-friendly interface that does not look and feel like the standard database application.

Concept Exploration and Communication (June 2010)

This case study provides an example of a concept video. In many cases, the result of an initial services engagement is not a working piece of software, or even a prototype, but a video that communicates possible concepts. A video has the huge advantage over concept drawings or wireframes that it can depict interactions, transitions and animations.
For example, many customers want us to help them envision solutions that might be possible based on trending technologies in the next 1-5 years. In these cases, we conduct user research, and explore many alternative future concepts. We leverage our understanding of emerging technologies to explore potential solutions to our customer's problems.
This example video focuses on the way narrated interactions enable the communication of UX concepts.
Aqua (June 2009)

This reference application ("Aqua") that we developed for Microsoft illustrates a variety of best practices and techniques using Windows Azure, MVVM, WPF, and ADO.NET Data Services.
Because Aqua is mimicking a healthcare product, we had the advantage that a few members of our team were experienced with healthcare IT system development, so we already had a good understanding of the users, their tasks, their equipment, and their environment.
What makes "Aqua" especially interesting from a UX perspective is the way we use the richness of WPF to manage the various content areas. To review the full project, go to http://healthcare.codeplex.com/
The Making of Quince (February 2009)

Since its launch beginning of February 2009, Quince – our UX patterns explorer - got a phenomenal traction out in the field.
We are often asked to provide some “behind the curtain” facts on the process and methods we used to develop Quince.
In this case study we show you some of the things that we felt were important for the look & feel of Quince.
Shipping Management (August 2008)

This case study was developed as a work proposal for a logistics company that wanted to improve the functionality and the user experience of their current shipping management software.
The case study illustrates the range of our expertise and provides an overview of our process, methods and deliverables as we develop a "mock" shipping application patterned after real systems.
