Infragistics Team / Sunday, October 8, 2017

This week has been tough with the horrific news out of Las Vegas. Our deepest condolences are with those affected.

Here are some of the top news items you may have missed this week:

  1. A Kernel of News – Engadget tells us that Apple has released ARM-optimized kernel source code for iOS, and Ars Technica reports that Linux long-term support (LTS) is tripling, going from two to six years.
  2. Make Sure You’re Connected – Apple has issued an updated to fix a connectivity issue for the Apple Watch Series 3 according to The Verge, and TechCrunch shares the story of an MLB team using NFC for contactless stadium entry.
  3. Worth the Wait? – People have been waiting for months for their Tesla Model 3s… and LA Times gives insight into why they are still waiting. Mashable reports that Facebook released a workplace competitor to Slack on the down low, and Slashgear reports that Microsoft Edge is “finally” coming to iOS and Android.
  4. Prism for Xamarin.forms – Last but not least, Infragistics' own Brian Lagunas shares breaking changes in Prism for Xamarin.forms.

What do you think? Are you excited to dig into the code that Apple released? How do you use NFC at work? Would you use it to go to a ballpark? Are you still waiting for your Tesla? Tweet with your thoughts @Infragistics and include #IGBackLog for a chance to win an IG hat!
