Sorry if this has been asked before or it is in the wrong section.
I have downloaded Infragistics and it has installed fine. But, when I go to create a new project, I can't find any of the infragistics tools or anything. Can someone please explain how I can include Infragistics tools and controls in my project?
Thank you for posting in our forums!
When you start Visual Studio, you have to create a new Windows Forms project. There is a Toolbox window that should be displayed by default and it is populated only when a solution is loaded. In case you don’t see a Toolbox window, you have to display it explicitly. To open the Toolbox window, click Toolbox on the View menu. In addition, you can dock the Toolbox, and you can pin it open or set it to Auto Hide.
In case you are able to see Microsoft’s inbox components, but you are not able to see Infragistics ones, you have to run the toolbox utility that is installed as a part of our installation package. You can find more about the toolbox utility at http://www.infragistics.com/help/windows-forms/introduction_running_the_toolbox_utility.html Basically, it regenerates Infragistics Toolbox’s tab from scratch and verifies that our components are actually part of Visual Studio’s Toolbox window.
Let me know if you need further assistance regarding this matter.
One other possibility is that the components could be hidden if they don't apply to the project. For example if your project is targeting .NET Framework 2.0, you wouldn't see the Windows Forms controls as they target .NET Framework 4.0. In this scenario you can see what is hidden by right clicking in the toolbox and selecting "Show All" and if they are disabled then they don't apply to the project type.
