Hei,
does any current product version get Visual Studio 2017 support? According to service release plan 24 March is scheduled for next service release for version 16.1 and 16.2, does they provide VS 2017 IDE extension tooling?
Hi Juri,
Yes 2016 volume 2 and up will support Visual Studio 2017. Through all of our initial testing, we have seen no issues with our product and the new release of Visual Studio 2017. If any issues do arise in 2016 volume 2 or higher with Visual Studio 2017, as long as they are detected while the product is in active support, we will promptly address the issue.
Well, now second service release for 16.2 is out at 19 May, still no updates on Visual Studio extensions, VS 2015 is last one on list. Just wonder is this support promise valid and when this might happen. Only hope is that I can't see any Infragistics version 2017.1 either which would logically have VS 2017 extensions.
Both of the 16.2 service releases, (2084 and 2011) do have the VS2017 support in it for CodedUI. I would just like to confirm what are you basing it on that you believe that it is not installed? Is it just that it is not working for you? Can you confirm if the files were installed, they should be located here:C:\Program Files (x86)\Infragistics\2016.2\Windows Forms\Coded UI Test\
There should be two of them an XML and a DLL file that look like:Infragistics4.Win.CodedUITest.UIA.VS15.v16.2.[XML|DLL]
I was testing on virtual machine and not saved previous installation. Now reinstalled all again and got finally all working.
Still was not able run Infragistics.VersionUtility.UI.exe on latest Windows 10 1703 version
02:46:19: Updating Infragistics4.Win.v15.2 Version=15.2.20152.1000 to new reference Infragistics4.Win.v16.2. Version 16.2.0.211102:46:19: Input string was not in a correct format.02:46:19: at System.Number.StringToNumber(String str, NumberStyles options, NumberBuffer& number, NumberFormatInfo info, Boolean parseDecimal)
But, upgraded project on Windows 8.1 with same tool successfully.
Manually executed also ToolboxUtilityCommandLine.exe, after that winforms designer opened in Visual Studio.
So, probably give up too easily previous time.
Thanks.
I have tried to get the extensions to work in VS 2017, still no luck. I downloaded and installed the current version, and there is NO support for Visual Studio 2017, or at least the extensions in the UI. We are halfway through 2017 at this point, aren't we?
Mark,
Which specific service release do you have installed? This can be found by looking at the installed updates on your machine: Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features -> Installed Updates. Also, did you check the location that Mike suggests to verify that the assembly is installed and if so, is it there:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Infragistics\2016.2\Windows Forms\Coded UI Test\
