I have a couple of Office 365 users that keep getting denied access into their Office 365 SharePoint site after entering their credentials (using either the Office 365 or Web Login method). The page displays the following error and appears right after you tap "Sign In".
Hi Johan,
Sorry for all the trouble! And thank you for posting your concerns and workarounds.
I can confirm that we have indeed a bug in the situation you present. When the site in question is an Office 365 one, ideally if the target sites accepts is, the Authentication Mode should be also O365. This is the scenario for the unattended sign in. The "attended" one would be using the Auth Mode as Web Login, as you commented, and if on a first attempt the site does not accept the sign in process, then to cancel back and to switch the Auth Mode. Even clearing the credentials cache, under the properties of the Site itself (on SharePlus). Having an O365 site with the Web Login mode does work on most scenarios. We are hoping to have this problem resolved on the upcoming version. We will confirm this on the upcoming weeks.
Kind regards,
Adrián P.
After nearly 2 weeks of troubleshooting I think this issue is related to a similar problem I experienced with a OneDrive for Business sync issue with MS O365. In that support case I was told to not use the "Sign In" button on the form but rather hit "Enter" on the keyboard after feeding in the password on the O365 web form credentials page.
Low and behold... This worked. At least 75% of the time (up from 0% on any previous attempts using the Sign In button). Not a bad improvement but still really flaky. What I am noticing now is that if the "Enter" method fails (this would be the "Go" key on the iPad touch keyboard) immediately retry the credentials and use the Sign In button.
I am probably going to be called crazy but after two weeks of logging in/out of SharePoint through SharePlus several hundred times...
