Green arrow, check-in/check-out...
posted

I am using SharePlus for my work. I got two questions :

  • What does the left green arrow mean beside a document? For example, when we open a pdf file.
  • What is the right procedure to modify a document? 1. Check it out, 2. Open it by double click on the icon, 3. Edit and save it, 4. Check it in?
  • Regarding the previous question, what about unsupported document such as mindmanager? 1. Check it out, 2. Open it, 3. Edit and save it on the hard drive, 4. Drag the copy to shareplus?

Thanks,

Tom

    Hello Tom,

Thank you for posting at IG forums!

That green arrow indicates it is checked out.

If the library requires check out to edit:

    1. Check out the document
    2. Open it (double click)*
    3. Edit
    4. Save
    5. Check in

    * This will work for office documents should you have Office:Mac 2011

When it comes to non-office documents, you can:

    1. Check out
    2. Drag to finder
    3. Edit
    4. Save
    5. Drag to SharePlus
    6. Check in

If the library does not require check in, you may skip the check in and check out steps.

I hope this helps. If not, let me know so I can try to help you better.

    Regards,

Children
