TestAdvantage for Windows Forms (IBM) 2008Vol3 CLR 20

Hello,

I am developing automated tests whit Rational Functional Tester 8.0 for an application

built in .NET, specifically with C#. However, I have a problem with this application

because it uses a third party software component named “Ultragrid” provided by you

(Infragistics):

The trouble occurs when I add a verification point in the script, RFT doesn’t recognize

the component, and it can´t obtain all the properties and values of the control.

I installed the Trial version of the Infragistics proxy TestAdvantage for Windows Forms

(IBM) 2008 Vol. 3 CLR 2.0 and I created a Rational Functional Testes script and it

was able to get the value of a cell, but RFT still doesn't recognize all properties of

Infragistics object control because now RFT doesn't indentify a click on the object:

Can someone help me with this problem?

Welcome to Infragistics forums and thank you for the detailed post. I wish all question are detailed like this one J

The reason for the issue you are experiencing after installing TestAdvantage is due to the version compatibility. The version of TestAdvantage proxies has to match the version of NetAdvantage controls in order to work fine. So for example the TestAdvantage version you downloaded from our website is 2008 Vol 3 which means it works only with NetAdvantage 2008 Vol3 and my guess is that your application is built with a different version of NetAdvantage. Can you check with your developer what version of NetAdvantage he/she is using so I can send you the link to the right installer. Once you get the correct version installer you just have to uninstall the current version you have right now (2008 Vol 3) and install the new one.

You are right; the version of TestAdvantage proxies doesn't match the version of NerAdvantage controls.

So I send you the version of NetAdvantage they are using:

- Infragistics NetAdvantage for .NET 2006 Vol 2 CLR 2.0 or

- NetAdvantage for Windows Forms 2006 Vol. 2

I am waiting you send me the link to the right installer.

Hi Arely,

Unfortunately the earliest version of TestAdvantage for IBM Rational Functional Tester is 2007 Vol 1. Which is compatible with NetAdvantage 2007 Vol. 1. The only way to be able to use TestAdvantage is to upgrade your application to a newer version of NetAdvantage (At least 2007 Vol 1 but I recommend going to the latest version 2009 Vol 1). I know this is not your call but I think your developer will find a lot of cool new features in our latest version of NetAdvantage (2009 Vol 1) which was just released last month.
