I got a tricky and urgent problem in my test environment. RFT failed to recognize infragisic objects if Test advantage is enabled. But if test advantage is disabled, the test objects could be recognized by RFT. I tried to reinstall both RFT and Test advantage, and restart machine, but it did not help.
It worked well before, but yesterday, after I uninstalled test advantage to try something, and then reinstalled test advantage, RFT+Test advantage does not work properly anymore. I am afraid that there is something wrong with my environment that cause test advantage failed to config with RFT correctly. If you have any ideas about how to config Test advantage to work with RFT, pls let me know. Thanks very much in advance!

Hi Please send me the infragistics.rftcust and CustomObjRecProp.rftop files located at "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM\RFT\customization"
there is a chance that one of these files got curropted during uninstall/reinstall.

I am using RFT 8.2.0 version. I am trying to captures the objects from my application tool. But RFT unable to capture the objects. It is not capturing anything, only capturing the whole window. I had checked in my appliction for the infragistics version and it is 8.2. So I had downloaded the "TestAdvantage for Windows Forms (IBM) 2008 Vol. 2 CLR 2.0" and installed. After installing I had copied the infragistics.rftcust and CustomObjRecProp.rftop files to "IBM\SDP\FunctionalTester\bin\customization" folder and tried to run. But still RFT is unable to capturing the objects. Could you please help me on this issue. After installing the TestAdvantage what are the file have to be copied to IBM RFT folder.

Thaks for your reply. I had followed the instructions given by you. Previously I don't have the contol on Sample application coming with Infragistics. But currently I am getting access to Sample application. But still I am unable to get control on my application. So, I am attaching the "customization" folder which is in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM\RFT\customization" as 3 zip files as the the attachment allowing only 200KB. Please give me your suggestions.

The contents of "customization" folder looks good. As you mentioned that record and replay on the sample is working fine (please confirm)
So the issue is in the application. What is the control you are trying to work with? What gets recorded with and without TA?
Please let me know these answers and also send me a screenshot for your application highlighting the problematic control(s)
Can you send me a sample application that shows the issue? a sample application will make it easier to find the root cause of the issue.

One more thing we are accessing our application through citrix server. We are trying to capture using RFT is in our local desktop. It may cause any problems to get control on the application by RFT?

As I said my application is installed in critrix server, the problem is because of this only. After installing the application in our local desktop RFT is getting control on the application without the using of TA. So, I problem got resolved.

This verify my initial thought when I read your post. I think RFt and the application under test needs to be on the same machine (either both locally or both on the citrix environment)
I reached out to my IBM contact to verify this but disdn't get a response.

After checking the application with RFT I found that still some of the buttons and functions are not capturing. So, I had installed the TA Trail Version and checked. After installing TA also I found some of them are not accessble, but better comapared to without TA. I tried to execute my script using RFT after capturing the functionality with TA using RFT (like some functional buttons). I got exception as below.
"Exception occurred during playback of script [Script1] [CRFCN0019E: RationalTestScriptException on line 41 of script Script1 - System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'Infragistics.Win.UltraWinToolbars.PopupToolUIElement' to type 'System.Windows.Forms.Control'..].
Here at Line 41 I am clicking the first button in my application.
Please give me your suggestions.

Did you try re-recording your script after installing TestAdvantage?
There is a sample application that ships with TestAdvantage. Please try recording on the ribbon of that sample and play back the recorded script. if there is no issue there then try against your application.
If issue still exists send me a screenshot of your UI and highlight the problematic area.
