We are in the process of reviewing the QuickTest Professional extensibility kit for WPF to see if we can implement custom proxies for our NetAdvantage for WPF controls. We are still in the early stages and are working with HP to resolve some of the hurdles that we came across. But we would like to hear from those that are utilizing the NetAdavantage for WPF controls and looking to test them to see what controls they are using, what specific features of those controls they are most interested in, and if there are any special means of implementation they are using for those controls so that we can better meet your use case scenarios out of the box. I am opening this thread to any suggestions or requests, and if you have any samples of your implementation that we can test against it would greatly aid us in meeting your requests. Due to the limitations of the forums though samples should be code files only, zip compressed, requiring just inbox and Infragistics DLLs. If all goes well we are looking at a CTP release for versions of 9.2 forward for Q2 of 2011, albeit no dates are in stone yet. All future announcements will posted on these forums.
Thanks for the quick reply and the dedicated thread. At this point would you happen to know if both netadvantage WPF products ("Win Client" and/or "Data Visualization") will be supported?
Thanks,
Steve
While we will be looking into the Data Visualization support as well, at the moment we are looking primarily into the Win Client product line. That is not saying that they won't make it into the CTP, just that at the moment we are primarily looking into Win Client.
We will be starting initial beta testing of some of the proxies shortly. Specifically we would be looking to test the Editors, and rudimentary support of the DataPresenters (XamDataGrid, XamDataCarousel, XamDataPresenter). If you would be interested, contact me through this site directly, and our product manager will likely contact you when we are ready begin beta testing the proxies. Also, be sure to include your contact and company information if applicable, as well as the version of NetAdvantage for WPF that you will be testing against.
Hi,
I am working on automating a Silverlight (Version 4) application for NewYork Life where the development team is using NetAdvantage 10.3 for the custom controls like XamDataGrid. I will be more happy if you can add me to your beta testing group and i can beta test proxies on both QTP 10 and QTP 11.
Please let me me know when it is available for Beta.

I think there is a bit of misunderstanding, the beta is for NetAdvantage for WPF, not for Silverlight. If you are interested we would be happy to add you to the Beta for it, but with the understanding again that the WPF proxies will not work for the automation of Silverlight controls.
Hi Mike,
Thanks for your quick reply, our developers are using NetAdvantage for Silver light application(controls like XamDataGrid), I beleive you have some solution for this as well.
Chandra
Hi Chandra,
As the lead developer for all of TestAdvantage in respects to QuickTest Professional, I believe I can safely at this time, we do not have a solution yet for our NetAdvantage for Silverlight controls yet, but we when we do, I will be sure to post it here. If you have some information to the contrary, I would love to review it.
