I'm looking for the following sample/doc reference
1. After row adding behavior added how to put drop down onto some fields that are in the bottom row that represents row to be added
2. Instead of #1 how to put some image/button so that post back will be triggered and RowAdding event fired so I can insert row into the grid source and bind it.
Thanks
Hello Michael,As far as i undestrand you are asking for similar scenario as this one implemented in our sample browser - http://samples.infragistics.com/aspnet/Samples/WebDataGrid/Editing-and-Selection/Batch-Updating/Default.aspx?cn=data-grid&sid=be403a2e-c9bf-4922-b0a4-d17ced5b1e02 You can replase the ordinary buttons with image Buttons.
I am asking about Hierarchical Data Grid, sample is for DataGrid, although they are related but behaive differently at a time...
#1 is actually if there a way to put either editing template or drop down editor provider to the row where adding row get entered.
#2 rather meant if it is possible to put some button or image to the bottom of the manually loaded on demand child grid so the empty row will be added and edited as existing row with the provided editors.
If you would have running sample it would be the best. Thnx.
Hello Michael,Please let me know if you had the chance to take a look at the sample.
Yes I did, just not sure how to deal with access data source... I can work only with SQL related datasources...
Hello Michael,You can use SQL datasource instead of Access one. Just see what are the columns in the select statement of the access datasource and when creating the SQL one check the same one. It should look like this:
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource1" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:ConnectionString %>" DeleteCommand="DELETE FROM [Products] WHERE [ProductID] = ?" InsertCommand="INSERT INTO [Products] ([ProductID], [ProductName], [SupplierID], [CategoryID]) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?)" ProviderName="<%$ ConnectionStrings:ConnectionString.ProviderName %>" SelectCommand="SELECT [ProductID], [ProductName], [SupplierID], [CategoryID] FROM [Products]" UpdateCommand="UPDATE [Products] SET [ProductName] = ?, [SupplierID] = ?, [CategoryID] = ? WHERE [ProductID] = ?"> <DeleteParameters > <asp:Parameter Name="ProductID" Type="Int32" /> </DeleteParameters > <InsertParameters > <asp:Parameter Name="ProductID" Type="Int32" /> <asp:Parameter Name="ProductName" Type="String" /> <asp:Parameter Name="SupplierID" Type="Int32" /> <asp:Parameter Name="CategoryID" Type="Int32" /> </InsertParameters > <UpdateParameters > <asp:Parameter Name="ProductName" Type="String" /> <asp:Parameter Name="SupplierID" Type="Int32" /> <asp:Parameter Name="CategoryID" Type="Int32" /> <asp:Parameter Name="ProductID" Type="Int32" /> </UpdateParameters > </asp:SqlDataSource >
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource1" runat="server"
ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:ConnectionString %>"
DeleteCommand="DELETE FROM [Products] WHERE [ProductID] = ?"
InsertCommand="INSERT INTO [Products] ([ProductID], [ProductName], [SupplierID], [CategoryID]) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?)"
ProviderName="<%$ ConnectionStrings:ConnectionString.ProviderName %>"
SelectCommand="SELECT [ProductID], [ProductName], [SupplierID], [CategoryID] FROM [Products]"
UpdateCommand="UPDATE [Products] SET [ProductName] = ?, [SupplierID] = ?, [CategoryID] = ? WHERE [ProductID] = ?">
>
/>
ok, thanks, I'll try it later.
