we are looking into using Visual Studio coded UI Test for our Automated UI Testing for our Software we develope. Our software utilizes the Ultimate UI für Windows Forms Version 13.2.See: help.infragistics.com/.../
We are getting Coded UI Tests to work under Visual Studio 2013 but everything later is giving us problems but our goal is to use VS 2017 instead of VS 2013 for the tests. In VS 2017 the assembly (Infragistics4.Win.CodedUITest.UIA.VS12.v13.2) is not added automatically to the references in a Coded UI Project.Even if the assembly is manually added to the references, the controls in the software are not correctly recognized as being from infragistics and instead takes MSAA, if UI controls in the software are added to the UI Control Map.
Something else we tried is opening an already created VS 13 Solution for a Coded UI Test in VS 2017, but it's giving an assembly error. It throws a System.IO.FileNotFoundException for "Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UITest.Extension, Version=18.104.22.168, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a."As far as we looked into it the error arises because the mentioned assembly is in version 22.214.171.124 in VS 2017. We didn't find a solution for that yet.
Thank you for contacting Infragistics. This is to be expected. Infragistics 2013 Volume 2 Coded UI is compatible with Visual Studio 2013 and earlier.
Newer versions of Visual Studio are not backwards compatible with our Coded UI Test Extensions from previous volumes. As each new Infragistics volume is released, we ensure that there is an assembly for the current version of Visual Studio at that time.
Let me know if you have any questions.
