We have Visual Studio 2010 on the client side . We use 2009 version of Netadvantage for winforms and wpf . We are planning to upgrade to 2018 Ultimate . So wanted to know if the 2018 Ultimate version is compatible with VS 2010 and .net framework 3.5.
The current versions of both the WPF and Windows Forms toolset require .NET Framework 4.0 or later so you would need to upgrade the version of the .NET framework you are using. We also last supported Visual Studio 2010 in 2015 as that is when mainstream support of Visual Studio 2010 ended for Microsoft according to the Microsoft product lifecycle. You can see more about our supported environments on our supported environments page.
If you upgrade to the latest it is recommended that you use a later version of Visual Studio and target a later version of the .NET framework.
Hello Alan ,
Thank you for your reply. I checked the supported environments page for the Infragistics Ultimate and it lists both visual studio 2010 and .net framework 3.5 as being supported . But you mentioned that it is not supported . Am I missing something ?
For Windows Forms, .NET Framework 3.5 was supported in 2012 Volume 1 and older and Visual Studio 2010 was last supported in 2015 volume 2. This information is to the right of where you see Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 3.5 listed.
Infragistics Ultimate 2018 Volume 1 will not work with .NET Framework 3.5 as we target .NET 4.0 or newer only and we support Visual Studio 2012 and newer.
