I am facing an issue using infragistics calcmanager.
Thats what I do is:
--> Read a formula from the user
--> Create a new column with this formula
DisplayLayout.Grid.Rows.Band.Columns.Add("Key_" + columnName, columnName).Formula = formula;
The issue that I have is that every time I end up with columns of dataType String.
Is there any way of fixing this?
For example I want If the result of the formula is numeric to show DataType.Int, etc.
If this is not possible, seems like an infragistics bug, what do you suggest?
It is not possible a formula to calculates the sin() of a number and not to be able to handle the entire's columns values as numbers.
Cell by cell casting is not a solution. I want the column to contains this information.
Thank you for contacting Infragistics. I believe you want to set the ValueType property, as explained in our online documentation: Creating a Calculated Column
Also, when creating columns manually you can specify the type via the column's DataType property.
Let me know if you have any questions.
