I am using the ultradatachart for metrics on individuals in the organization. When it first loads it does not show all names on the category axis. However, when the chart starts to zoom the missing names appear. I have tried a host of label settings and searched extensively for posts on similar results and have had no success in understanding what is going on. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
I have been investigating into the behavior you are seeing with the UltraDataChart and have been looking through our internal tracking systems for a development issue that matches the issue you are seeing. I have not yet found one, and so I decided to create a sample project with a ColumnSeries and a LineSeries with vertically angled labels to try to reproduce the behavior you are seeing. In doing so, I was not able to reproduce the behavior you are seeing, though, as all labels are showing normally at the start on my end.
I have attached the sample project I used to test this. Please test this project on your PC; whether or not it works correctly may help indicate the nature of this problem.
If the project does not work correctly, this indicates either a problem possibly specific to your environment, or a difference in the DLL versions we are using. My test was performed using version 19.1.20191.150 in Infragistics for Windows Forms 2019.1.
If the project does show the product feature working correctly, this indicates a possible problem in the code of your application. It will help if you can provide a small, isolated sample application that demonstrates the behavior you are seeing.
Or, if this sample project is not an accurate demonstration of what you're trying to do, please feel free to modify it and send it back, or send a small sample project of your own if you have one.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns on this matter.
thanks Andrew. I will test this in the morning. The one thing I would mention before I do is that there seems to be a break point where things are/are not working correctly. If I have 10 or fewer people in the category axis then they appear fine. When I exceed 10 the behavior shown starts to appear. More tomorrow.
Your most recent description leads me to think that the behavior you are currently seeing might actually be expected by the “auto-interval” behavior of the CategoryXAxis. If you haven’t set it already, I would recommend setting the Interval property on your CategoryXAxis to “1” to see if this prevents the issue you are seeing.
thanks Andrew! That did take care of it. I am all set.
