Planned vs actual dates for a task
posted

Is it possible to use planned start/finish dates for a task, together with actual start/finish dates?  The control I'm looking to replace allows both sets of dates and shows the task as two bars; one bar for planned, the other for actual.  It makes it very easy to see where tasks are slipping or overrunning.  The percentage complete is OK, but doesn't allow someone to start a task earlier than expected (or finish later than expected) and still retain the original target dates.

Thanks

Phil

No, the control currently does not support that behavior. We emulated MS Project as closely as possible for the look and feel, and to some degree the behavior, but in the timeframe we had available we were not able to fully cover the vast number of features available in MS Project.

If you like you can submit a feature request for the ability to do what you describe here; if possible, please include some specifics about the way MS Project handles this, so that we can investigate the feasibility of implementing this in a future release.
