I need to Filter set of data and allow user to edit/delete results after filter is applied. I am trying to find a way to get handle on Result (subset of original records after filter applied.

You can use the GetFilteredInDataRecords /GetFilteredOutDataRecords methods to get the data records that match / do not match the filter criteria e.g. For example in the event handler of RecordFilterChanged event of XamDataGrid you can use the GetFilteredInDataRecords method of RecordManager:
private void xdg_RecordFilterChanged(object sender, Infragistics.Windows.DataPresenter.Events.RecordFilterChangedEventArgs e){ IEnumerable<DataRecord> filteredInRecords = xdg.RecordManager.GetFilteredInDataRecords();}
