Is it possible for me to reference the borderbrush color of the currently applied theme for a xamtexteditor control. I need to applied the same brush to the border of a custom control

You can get all you need from our Default Styles folder (default path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Infragistics\NetAdvantage 2010.2\WPF\DefaultStyles) and in your particular case you can access the Editors folder which is inside the above mentioned and use the *theme*_Brushes.xaml files to get the brushes you need. It should be the EditorsNormalBorderFillKey you are looking for, but you can always double check in the EditorsGeneric_Express.xaml file.
