I am new on WPF and I want to use your ColorPicker within a Dialog Window without showing the Combo Box. Is there any way to do this?
Thanks a lot Jan
Hello Jan,
Thank you for your post. I have been looking into it and I created a sample project for you with the functionality you want. Basically I copied the default Style of the XamColorPicker and changed the parent of its Dropdown from Popup to Grid. This way the dropdown is visible all the time. Please let me know if this helps you or you need further assistance on this matter.
Looking forward for your reply.
Thanks a lot for your fast response and - the solution is working fine so far. I have one additional question. The Event "SelectedColorChanged" is fired, if the color is changing by mouse move over the control. Now I want to use the ColorPicker within a Windows Dialog and I want to set the DialogResult=true if the color is finally selected by click on the control or by press the OK button within the AdvancedSettingsDialog. Is there any event which I can use. I want to prevent to add an additional button in order to close the Windowdialog.
Thanks a lot
Regards Jan
I have modified the sample I sent you before, so now when you click the Ok button of the Advanced panel the DialogWindow is closed and you are able to get the selected color. Please let me know if this helps you or you need further assistance on this matter.
Thanks a lot for your really fast response - OK it works , the only missing feature is that I need a event in the code behind file for the click on the Rectangle within the basic color picker. Finally I would say, that it seems very complicated for me as a WPF beginner to create such a ColorPicker dialog. A deep understanding of the basic Infragistics WPF background seems to be necessary. I see no chance for me at the moment to manipulate the Styles so that I can change the behavior of the control. So at the moment I don't know if it is better to spent the time to create a own dialog. Probably the reason is my limited knowledge about WPF. I don't know.
Thanks a lot again and best regards
Jan
I modified the sample further, so now there is a handler for the click event of the rectangle that contains the selected color.
Hi Stefan,
thanks again - with the help of some other posts, now everything is working fine.
best regards Jan
