Ammar and I have this bet where he'll buy me a beverage of choice if I reach 2,000 points by May 1st.
I want to do this, and I need it to be elegant. What kind of settings with regards to touch pass-throughs do I need to implement or consider? I can understand that this is your worst nightmare, but it's my best dream for a style of app I'm creating for a client. Let me know if you want to webex the art mockups to get a feel for what i'm doing.
The above image was 1 flow with 5 flow controllers (red, yellow, green, orange, white), each with 5 objects colored red, yellow, green, orange, white. Interior and exterior flow editItemColors were both default blue.
Here's an image with 1 flow with 5 flow controllers (still red, yellow, green, orange, white), each with 3 objects colored purple, black, gray. Interior editItemColor is brown with smaller handles. Exterior is default blue.
The purpose of me posting like this was to implicitly ask you to build a similar project and see for yourselves the limitation of touch events appropriately selecting/deselecting cells. For example, an interior cell can only be selected if the parent cell is not selected. Additionally, a parent can only be selected if you click a magic area on the bottom or right edge of the parent.
There is huge potential with flow layout. I'm blown away, really. Nice job. I'm excited to use it.
Hey Caylan,
Honestly, i never even though about nesting them when creating this control, however, i do agree it's a valid case, and a pretty cool one.
I'm going to spend some time on this to see what can be done. My first inclination is that this may need to be done using some custom gestures and disabling the default ones, but obviously, as you've already seen, that's not possible currently. Although, it shouldn't be too hard to enable this scenario before the next SR.
Thanks for all the feedback!

You bet. Thanks for the hard work. The invite still stands for the webex for mockups.
Steve, remind me of the changes you made to this control to help facilitate embedding. Do I need to make special considerations/optimizations?
Sure. I've attached a ViewController that implements a nested FlowLayoutView
Perfect, thank you.
