I am evaluating Shareplus for use in my office and have the following question. Is there a way to edit/work with non office documents (.txt, .psd) from within shareplus?
When I hit edit the document will open on the corresponding app and can be edited. However, when trying to save the file shows up as locked. If I try to get around the lock it still does not update on the sharepoint site. I have tried checking out the file and the same problem happens.
Any assistance on this would be appreciated
ThanksErick
Hello Erick,
Thank you for posting at IG forums!
Regarding the first question, SharePlus relies on 3rd party apps.
TXT and/or PSD edit capabilities are out of the scope of our app.
Would you mind tell me what do you mean by “locked”?
Do you get an error message? What does it say?
It would be extremely helpful if you can send us screenshots of the errors and procedure you follow that ends with that error.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Hi Sebastian,
Thanks for the follow up. When we click on the file it opens it up on Illustrator however, when we try to save it it gets the attached error. Same happens with a text file or any non "microsoft office file".

This is happening because when you open a Non-Office document in SharePlus Mac what the app does is opening a copy in Read Only mode.As you may know, SharePlus iOS has much more features than the Mac version but unfortunately there’s no fix or update scheduled nor even planned for this Mac app.
There’s a workaround though.
In this scenario you might select “Save As” and save it in another place in the disc and after upload it by using SharePlus.
I hope this helps and if there’s anything else I can do for you please let me know.
Kind regards,
My SharePlus Lite app on my iPad works fine and allows me to view and access all documents. bathtub remodel
