Indigo Studio hangs during loading screen

Hello,

When I open Indigo Studio, the loading screen is starting but never stops loading. The actual program never starts. The only thing I can do is close the loading screen window manually. My serial key was expired recently and I've ordered a new one, but it doesn't even let me enter the new key. I tried a complete re-install several times and also deleted the "Indigo Studio" folders from "My Documents" and the "AppData/Local". I tried the steps listed in other forum-post with similar problems.

Details:

  • Windows 7
  • Indigo version 4 (update 0.2)
  • Silverlight version 5.1.30514.0
  • win.log only contains: "2014-11-04 13:01:59.73 [901b67] [Info ] NativeHost: Initializing native host" (and "2014-11-04 13:05:20.95 [901b67] [Info ] NativeHost: Native host closing" if I close the loading-window)

Please let me know what other solutions I can try or if you need more information to help me.

Thanks in advance,

Caspar

    Hi Caspar,

I'm sorry to hear that. Let see if we can figure out what's going on. Some questions:

    1. Was Indigo working OK before installing the latest version?

    2. When did it started to fail, after checking for updates, after installing the new version over the old one, or just from one day to another?

Would it be possible for you to try installing an earlier version of Indigo Studio to see if it works for you? You can then update to the latest version by checking for updates in Indigo. You should have access to previous versions of Indigo Studio on your account.

Let us know how it goes. Thanks for submitting the issue, and we apologize for the inconvenience,

    Best regards,

    Santiago.

    Indigo Studio Team.

      Hi Santiago,

      Thanks for your reply.

I know Indigo worked OK about 2 weeks ago just before my previous key expired. I did not install any updates after that. When I tried to open Indigo again, after buying a new key, this problem occurred for the first time.

I would like to try and install an older version but I cannot find any previous versions on the website or on my account page. The "My keys and downloads" page only links to the latest version. It would be great if you can send me a link to a previous version you would like me to try.

      Thanks,

      Caspar

        Hi Caspar,

Can you try running the v4 installer from an administrator command line like this?

        msiexec "IndigoStudio.msi" /lvi* log.txt

I'm not sure why you don't have the latest v3 available under your account, have you registered your v3 product key in the past? In any case please send an email to indigo at infragistics.com so I can share it directly with you. Also, if the above doesn't work, can you attach the log.txt output file?

        Thanks again!

        Best regards,

        Diego

        Hi Diego,

        I attached the msi-installer log.txt you asked for. (btw, the command I used was msiexec /package "IndigoStudio.msi" /lvi* log.txt")

I will also sent you an email so you can share a previous version of indigo.

        Thanks!

        Best,

        Caspar

        Hey guys,

The app has been working great on my Mac but the version on my PC at my desk, whenever I load it, it just comes up a gray screen I've even rebooted and it just comes up a gray screen over and over.  Like it hasn't loaded anything.  In the top left of the chrome there is an icon that is just a yellow box, a red box, and a blue box.  I've never seen it before.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks so much!

        Hello Charles,

        I’m sorry to hear this.

For the description it seems that the installation is corrupted. Can you try the following?

Open an administrator command prompt where the msi file is and run this command:

        msiexec /i "IndigoStudio.msi" /lvx* log.txt

This forces a re-install that should fix the problem.

Let me know how it goes.

        Best regards,

        Diego

Sorry for the late response, Diego.  I found the installer, did an uninstall and a reinstall and everything is fine.  Thanks for pointing me in that direction!  It was working fine on my mac.  Figures 😉

        Charles
