Where is version upgrade utility?

I've installed 2010.3 (via "NetAdvantage_ASPNETWithSamplesAndHelp_20103.exe") and there's no "Version Upgrade Utility" anywhere!  Nothing in the Start / All Programs Infragistics / NetAdvantage 2010.3 / ASP.NET / Utilities folder, nothing in the C:\Program Files\Infragistics\NetAdvantage 2010.3\ASP.NET subfolders… where is it, please?  The documentation clearly shows it's supposed to be somewhere – see "ms-help://NetAdvantage_ASPNET103/Web_ASPNET103/WebElements/Web_Using_Version_Upgrade_Utility.html"

    Hello dornegley,

There should be a shortcut to the Version Utility in the Start menu under Start / All Programs / Infragistics / NetAdvantage 2010.3.  It's not specific to the product (ASP.NET), but to the NetAdvantage version.

You can also run it from the .exe located here:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Infragistics\NetAdvantage 2010.3\Version Utility

Please let me know if you have other questions about this.

      Hello Elizabeth – small problem:  there IS no C:\Program Files\Common Files\Infragistics\NetAdvantage 2010.3\Version Utility.  Pretty sure I did a plain-vanilla install…

The screenshot you attached shows the C:\Program Files\Infragistics\NetAdvantage 2010.3 folder.

Could you please check the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Infragistics\NetAdvantage 2010.3 folder?

        I have attached a screenshot.

Son of a gun!  There it is – you were entirely correct!  No link was created in the Start / All Programs hierarchy at install time, but the code sure is there.  I'd love to know why y'all decided to put this tool in 'Common Files' instead of "C:\Program Files\Infragistics\NetAdvantage 2010.3\ASP.NET", but I'm not gonna complain…  Thanks a bunch!

The reason why it is put into the 'Common Files' folder is that the utility is shared between products.  For example, if I install ASP.NET and Windows Forms, I will have one copy of the utility instead of two.

Glad you found it. 🙂  Let me know if you have any other questions.
