Getting Started

ReportPlus is a self-service business intelligence tool that puts the power in your hands to do dashboard reporting - all without the need for custom programming. With ReportPlus for Android you can view dashboards in your mobile device, easily query and filter enterprise data sources, enjoy meaningful visualization over data and effortlessly share your work with others whether or not they are existing ReportPlus users.

Dashboard Selector

When you first open ReportPlus, you are greeted by a dashboard selector which gives you the ability to:

  • Open dashboards saved in the device. These are the ones displayed as thumbnails in the initial view, and you open them by tapping the corresponding thumbnail image.

  • Open dashboards shared with me. If you are subscribed, you can toggle the view between local dashboards and dashboards others have shared with you by tapping Shared with Me.

  • Access General Settings. By tapping the Settings icon in the upper right-hand corner of the initial view, you can access the General Settings dialog, which, among other things, allows you to manage your accounts and connections.

  • Access your Recent and Favorite dashboards by tapping the Recent and Favorites buttons in the bottom pane of the initial view. The Recent section allows a quick access to your recently opened dashboards, while Favorites lets you share or unfavorite your favorite dashboards.

  • Access Advanced dashboard actions by clicking on the overflow button in the bottom right-hand corner of your dashboard. These include Sharing dashboards or adding them to Favorites.

  • Search for a dashboard within your repository by tapping the magnifying glass in the bottom bar.

Opening & Navigating Dashboards

You can open existing dashboards by tapping the dashboard thumbnail image in the initial view.

A dashboard is composed by a tile of visual blocks called widgets. Each widget is meant to display a different piece of related information, allowing you to communicate insights at a glance. This dashboard-widget structure allows you to better digest the bigger picture in your business.

It’s possible to maximize any of the dashboard widgets just by tapping them.

The maximized view not only allows a larger display of the information, but can also enable some interactions. For instance, the grid view supports horizontal and vertical scrolling, and the chart view supports zooming and panning.

When viewing the data behind your visualization, you can apply sorting (ascending or descending). For more information on applying sorting to grids, check the Grid View topic.

In addition to this, you can also switch the maximized view to other visualizations or look at the data behind your chart by tapping the small chart icon in the top right corner. Different possibilities will be displayed on the starting visualization

If, at any point, you want to revert back to the original visualization, you can tap the "Show original" link.

It is possible to filter information at a dashboard or a widget level.

  • Dashboard filters are displayed in a collapsible panel on the right-hand side.

  • Widget filters (a.k.a. QuickFilters) are displayed on top of a widget visualization once it is maximized.

For more information on Dashboard Filters, check out this section.

Dashboard Preview

You can enter the Preview mode by tapping the arrows in the bottom right corner.

This is a view-only preview which allows you to:

  • View the dashboard as a whole.

  • Zoom into any individual widget.

  • Apply any of the configured Dashboard or Widget Filters.

Portrait Orientation

This orientation is by far the most intuitive and natural when using an iPad or an iPhone. When you rotate your device, all ReportPlus screens adapt to the new orientation, except for the Widget Editor which is always displayed in landscape orientation.
