Could you write another part of the service that just gets the count from the server, i.e: return SELECT COUNT(*) FROM ….  then display that somewhere ?

Hi Jim, I'm just starting out on this, but there is an event , onSelection() that you can see what date they picked and reject it if you want.  The example is in the Calendar component.  Might work for you for the moment.
