Hi Mike,

Many thanks for replying.  Thats what i first thought and i have tried just that – but it does not seem to working for some strange reason. 

I have created a test windows application.  Docked the main form with an ultragrid.  Using the ultragrid designer / Feature Picker – i changed the updating to allow adding, deleting and updating.  I have also checked the Show AddNew.

I put the above code on the InitializeLayout event of the grid – the background colours do not seem to change.  I must be doing something wrong.

Any ideas.
