ASP.NET Controls New Features – 2011 Volume 2

NetAdvantage® for ASP.NET 2011 Volume 2 brings fully supported touch gestures on iPhone and iPad devices. Now, your end-users can enjoy the full functionality of the toolset on iOS browsers, in addition to the desktop, expanding the reach of your ASP.NET-based applications. This release also includes some of the most asked for features to the grid, like batch updating and multi-column headers. We have also enhanced the Infragistics Excel library to enable your web applications to construct more capable Microsoft Excel documents.

iPad/iPhone Browser Support - NEW!

All ASP.Net controls have been tested on iPad/iPhone browsers and are now fully touch enabled on these devices. A user of your applications can now perform actions that they would normally perform on a desktop machine with a keyboard and mouse simply using touch on their iPad or iPhone, right out of the box.

Rectangular ranges of cells can now be set to be printed on their own pages, when a user prints the worksheet in Microsoft Excel.

Horizontal and vertical page breaks can now be added to the worksheets.

Extensive Excel Object Model

An intuitive object model designed to mirror the layout, formatting and behavior of Excel spreadsheets including worksheets, formulas, frozen panes, formatted strings and much more.

With just one line of code, the contents of the WebDataGrid can be exported to Microsoft Word.

Create column groups in your WebDataGrids to customize the layout of the information that is being displayed.

Batch Updating

Retain user updates within the grid’s temporary storage on the client-side until the user is ready to commit it to the data store.

Clipboard Support

Cut, copy and paste data rows and data cells from within your grid to Microsoft Excel sheet, or vice versa.

Cell Merging

When a user sorts, cells with like values merge together to form a single cell area, giving a visual grouping across rows.
