The full installation of Test Automation for Micro Focus WPF is two-tier process: you first install Test Automation for Micro Focus WPF itself, and then – the required Unified Functional Testing patches. Theses patches ensure the compatibility and flawless work of your testing environment.

Before installing Test Automation for Micro Focus WPF, make sure that the following requirements are met:

  • Micro Focus Unified Functional Testing product properly installed before installing the Test Automation for Micro Focus WPF. For more information, see the Supported Environments and Product Versions topic.

  • UFT’s .NET and WPF add-ins properly installed. The .NET and WPF add-ins have to be available and loaded in the Unified Functional Testing Add-In Manager.

  • Test Automation for Micro Focus WPF Product Key. If you don’t have a Product Key, contact your system administrator or Test Automation technical support.

  • The Unified Functional Testing patches available for installing.

Installing the Test Automation for Micro Focus WPF Unified Functional Testing

Installation procedure

To install Test Automation for Micro Focus WPF, run the product installer. On the the installation wizard’s screens you will be required to acknowledge reading the installation notes and the license agreement andd also you will be prompted to input the following information:

  • Full Name

  • Organization

  • Product Key (if you do not enter product key a trial version will be installed)

  • CLR version of Test Automation for Micro Focus WPF to be installed

Note:

You can change the CLR version later if necessary. For details, refer to the Switching Test Automation / CLR Versions topic.

Installing the Required Unified Functional Testing Patches for Test Automation for Micro Focus WPF

Required UFT patches

After the completing the product installation of Test Automation for Micro Focus WPF, you need to install the required UFT patches. The required patches depend on the version of Unified Functional Testing you are using.

The required patches can be found in the installed Test Automation for Micro Focus WPF folder.

Verifying the Test Automation for Micro Focus WPF Product Installation

Installation verification summary

Make sure the required add-ins are enabled.

To enable the Micro Focus Unified Functional Testing product to recognize the Ultimate UI for WPF controls, make sure you have enabled the Test Automation for Micro Focus WPF add-in and the .NET and WPF. To check/enable add-ins, access the "Add-in Manager" dialog and make sure to check the "21.1 Test Automation CLR4" or "21.1 Test Automation Version Free " checkbox.

Make sure the configuration files exist.

Two configuration files should be available in the following UFT folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Micro Focus\Unified Functional Testing for UFT\dat\Extensibility\WPF , as shown in the table below.

Defines a test object class for every Ultimate UI for WPF control, as well as its identification properties, test object methods, and a few other parameters.

Test Automation for Micro Focus WPF Toolkit Configuration File

The Ultimate UI for WPF control types are mapped to test object types (classes).

Installed under UFT’s dat\Extensibility\WPF folder.
