Hi,
I've installed the WPF controls (15.2) for the first time (first WPF Project...) and I'm missing the xamGrid. Because of conditional formatting I prefer xamGrid over xamDataGrid.
I tried to add InfragisticsWPF4.Controls.Grids.XamGrid.v15.2.dll to the Toolbox, but there are no components which could be placed into the Toolbox.
What I'm missing here? Many thanks for your help.

I have been looking into your question. What I can suggest if you want to use the XamGrid is add the assemblies manually to your project. The needed assemblies you can find on the following link from our documentation: http://help.infragistics.com/doc/WPF/2015.2/CLR4.0/?page=xamGrid_Adding_xamGrid_to_Your_Page.html.

I've allready read this article and was able to manually add the xamGrid. If there would be a possibility to get it into the Toolbox, then there also would be advantage for configure the datasource and drag and drop it onto the form like you can do it with the xamDataGrid. That would save time for configuring the columns because they are taken from the datasource automatically.
Am I right, that there is no possibility to add it to the toolbox?
This is because of a limitation with Visual Studio. We are hiding certain "shared" controls, such as the xamGrid, from the toolbox to discourage their use. Since Silverlight is dead, there is no real benefit to using them unless they happen to have a feature that the WPF specific controls don't have. In your case, you prefer the conditional formatting. Luckily, Microsoft has fixed this in Visual Studio 2015 by adding a new attribute to support your scenario. We will get this fixed.

So, if I understand right the xamGrid unique features will be moved to xamDataGrid and the xamGrid will get obsolete?
Essentially yes. For example, the next major feature coming over from xamGrid is column grouping. Conditional formatting is lower on the priority list.

As Brian has mentioned - Visual Studio 2015 provides a fix for this limitation. I have logged this behavior with our developers in our tracking system, with an issue ID of 209578. I have also created a support ticket on your behalf with number CAS-166319-W0S9Q9 in order to link the development issue to it so that you are automatically updated when a Service Release containing your fix is available for download.
Development issue 209578 is now resolved in the latest Serive Release. You can follow the steps below to download it:
1. View My Keys and Downloads: https://www.infragistics.com/my-account/keys-and-downloads
2. Log in to the Infragistics web site if you are not already logged in.
3. Select the product you would like to download a service release for.
4. Select the “Service Releases” tab.
5. Select the download (e.g. Infragistics WPF 2016 Vol. 1 - Service Release)
