Could youplease help me in this issue.
Hi Varshali,
This error probably indicates a version mismatch with Infragistics and Infragistics Test Automation.
You can determine which version of TA you need (and find many more tips on using Test Automation) in this video.
Hi Micheal,
The version of application i.e netadvantage infragistics is different form the testadvantage version , this is what you mean to say ?
Does Infragistics Test Automation means the Application under test ??
And will installing the Process explorer help us to understand the version of NetAdvantage used for application.
Could you please help me understand these queries.
Thanks,
Varshali
The error that you are seeing can be caused by a version mismatch. If you do not know which version of NetAdvantage was used to build the application under test, you can use Process Explorer to find out, as demonstrated in the video.
Infragistics Test Automation is our set of proxies for testing your application. It was formerly branded as TestAdvantage.
Installing Process Explorer is a great way to determine which Infragistics version was used in the application under test. Please let me know if I can provide any further assistance with this tool.
Thanks Mike for the Reply
Will install Process Explorer and verify the version for netadvantage and testadvantage.
Will let you know in case facing any problem in using the Process explorer.
Have a query, We are facing issue only for few objects like table only , ideally if version mistmatch is there we should face issues for all the objects ,right ?
There are a few reasons why you might see an issue only for the grid:
1) Recording of non-IG controls should not be affected by Infragistics Test Automation. Are you recording against any other Infragistics controls?2) The AUT may have been built with multiple versions of Infragistics. This is non-standard, but possible to do. Please let me know if you find that the AUT references more than one IG version.3) There may be some corruption in the Test Automation configuration on your machine. We will look into this if you find that the versions match with Process Explorer.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Hi Mike,
Please find below comments
1) Recording of non-IG controls should not be affected by Infragistics Test Automation. Are you recording against any other Infragistics controls?
(We are recording against Windows Forms controls only )
2) The AUT may have been built with multiple versions of Infragistics. This is non-standard, but possible to do. Please let me know if you find that the AUT references more than one IG version.
(No the AUT is build under only one version i.e 11.2..20112.2034 )
3) There may be some corruption in the Test Automation configuration on your machine. We will look into this if you find that the versions match with Process Explorer.
(Using the Process Explorer found the version of the AUT, Infragistics version used is 11.2..20112.2034 and the testadvantage we are using is Windows Forms 2007 V3 )
Could you please do the needful.
Thanks ,
Please keep in mind that for full compatibility and functionality regarding testing our components, the version of TestAdvantage must be equal to the version of NetAdvantage used in your application. As far as I understand this condition is not matched in your scenario and that is why some objects might not be recognized and recorded correctly. Therefore, you would have to install TestAdvantage 11.2, in order to fully test your application.
Let us know if you have any additional questions.
