Can I use RTF format in Ultrawindgrid? Can I use multiple color or multiple format/styles in a ultragrid cell..
Yes and yes. Our answer to the RichTextEditor is the UltraFormattedTextEditor, which supports an HTML-like markup that allows you to make the text is displays bold, italic, underlined, etc., and supports coloring the text as well. This control can be assigned to an UltraGridColumn's EditorComponent property, and doing so will cause (for example) a value like "Hello <b>World</b>" to display with the second word bolded. There is a reference to the supported markup here.
There is also a sample that is included with the SDK, 'RichTextEditor', which demonstrates how to create an embeddable editor out of a RichTextEditor control. Note that we consider this control obsolete however, and recommend using the UltraFormattedTextEditor instead (ours is a native .NET control, whereas the RichTextEditor is a wrapper around an old COM control).
FYI, you don't have to use an UltraFormattedTextEditor, you can just set the Style property on the column to FormattedText and use the same XML for the cell's value.
Ok, i found it.
I can now see multi-lines when using <p> </p> markup;
but I can't force multi-lines using \r\n, could you please advise?
Hi,
I'm not sure what you are asking. \r\n will not work, because that's not how formatted texts works. You either need to use paragragh "<p>" tags or else a line break "</BR>"
Wonderful!
That is what I was looking for!
I wanted something else than the <p></p> to do not have the line spacing.
I tried <br> before your reply which didn't work, but using <br></br> it works as expected!
Many thanks!
You can also use "<br/>" by itself without a starting "<br>" tag.
