Hello:
I am trying to install Netadvantage 2005 Volume 2 on a Windows 7 machine.
I am logged in as a user and part of the Administrators group.
Right after I launch the installer, I get a message, "Error 1610. Could not access network location %SystemDrive%\inetpub\wwwroot".
On this machine, there is a environment variable, %SystemDrive that points to C:.
From what I infer from above, it's trying to access c:Inetpub\wwwroot which is non-existent but c:\INetpub\wwwroot is a valid directory.
Could there be an error in the install routine with a missing "\" or does it expect be run the setup as an Administrator (and not as a user who is part of the Administrators group)?
Any help will be appreciated.
Venki
Hello Venki,
There are two approaches that you could try mentioned at the following forum thread:

Please feel free to let us know if you have any other questions with this matter.
Danko:
I spoke a little too soon!
Now, I get an error message, "Error 1609: An error occurred when applying security settings. ASPNET is not a valid user or group. This could be a problem with the package, or a problem connecting to a domain controller on the network. Check you network connections and click Retry, or Cancel to exit the install."
I did check the user accounts and ASPNET is not one of them. Should I manually create this account?
There are few suggestions here, what you could do in order to be able to install this old version to your machine:

Please feel free to let me know if there is anything else that I could assist you with.
I am still following this forum thread.
Please feel free to let us know if you need any other assistance with this matter.
Even after I installed IIS, I still get that message about the missing user account.
Don't know what else I can do.
Thanks for your diligent follow-up.
At the provided link above there is another suggestion:
"I managed to get my v6.2 to install, by simply adding a user named "ASPNET" and made them part of all the groups that I thought were relevant, such as the IIS_USRS and ADMINISTRATOR as well as Network Configuration Operators group. The installation now completed successfully. "
Have you try to do so, and what was the end result? If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.
Unfortunately, this is a corporate laptop and I don't have the privileges to add users.
On second thoughts, I will try to reinstall IIS logging in as an Administrator. When I reinstalled it last, I was signed in and may be that's why ASPNET user account was not created.
